WILLOW: She's A Vibe Realistically
Willow Camille Reign Smith is truly a vibe for me. She is talented beyond her earthly years, and she proudly tells listeners she is transcended from the 6th dimension; this I believe. For her being so young she is definitely other worldly. Her music does not beg to be heard, but rather insists we acknowledge her on her terms. I have accepted the mission Willow.
Her smooth rhythmic falsetto voice lends itself to alternative, rock, new age, and smooth R&B. She is all the thangs.
I am glad to be old enough to remember her predecessors Tracy Chapman, Alanis Morrisette and Erykah Badu. To my sheroes of musical past, Willow has surpassed each of you with love and grace in her heart. She is now because you were then. She is bold, and confident in her music and risk-taking. For this I love her spirit.
We are not even going to speak the names of her famous parents, because this young lady stands in her own space of quantum charm, talent, peace, and song. She has a voice we need to hear that is all her own. She is deconstructed and true to her soul, not ours, her parents' or the music industry.
Alone Willow sings, writes, plays drums, bass guitar, piano, and keyboards. She paints the pictures of her talent, and soul that she wants to share with us in her video artwork. Her video artistry stirs the musical tapestry into a perfect fabric that brings the music to perfection in a way only she can deliver it to her fans; Willow patented and approved. Watching her videos is as mesmerizing as listening to her vocals in the dark of the night when one is licking their wounds of sadness, celebrating joys of triumphs, or just grooving as you clean on a sunny Saturday morning.
Just when I thought the 2018 hit Whip My Hair was just a fluke, and construct of the media machine that created her unnamed-Grammy-Winning relative, Willow creates her own path in my musical heart that speaks her voice singularly and unimitated during this time of cut-and-bake female rap artists who give away too much to the imagination. In reality, Willow is always naked in her musical unwrapping that she invites hugs to everyone who listens and love to all who hear.
I love Willow Smith.
She reminds me of Angela Bofill and Phyllis Hymen with her jazzy undertones and alto voice. Willow tap dances across falsetto chords, reminiscent of younger adolescent boys, delivered with present scenes of scientific discoveries of self.
