Senator McCaskill Can't Spell and Shouldn't Be in Congress

I should have known it would not be good calling my local Senator, Claire McCaskill, who has a prominent role alongside Presidential Candidate Barack Obama, when I noticed on the opening page of her website she spelled traveling incorrectly-- travelling! Now when we supported her to go to DC, we thought she was competent enough to know how to spell and use punctuation. But her voters were wrong, she cannot spell. And nor do her staffers know how to talk to constituents when they call.

I live in her district in Missouri and called to get help when I found myself calling Sallie Mae to find that they have moved their operations to India. When I called I was told by her staffer "Michael" that as a policy of her office, they only give first names to constituents.

I proceeded to get a senior staffer on the line who might be able to tell me when the US allowed Sallie Mae to be bought by a private company. He rudely told me that I could not talk to a senior staffer and that if I would hold he would get the information for me. This was progress because when I called Senator Kit Bond's office the person who answered said he didn't know what Sallie Mae even was. So I held for this rude staffer, and he responded that last year Sallie Mae was bought by the JC Flowers and Friedman Fleischer & Lowe. He incorrectly stated that the company was acquired for $3billion, but according to the U.K. Guardian the price was $25 billion. http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2007/apr/16/privateequity

I ask why are we allowing people such as McCaskill to represent our interests in a forum as large and as important as the US Senate? My family will no longer support her or her interests as our own because she can't spell for starters and her staffer "Michael" was rude and refused to help when a constituent in need called for intervention. We wrapped up our conversation when he transferred me to Detective Zimmerman of the Capitol Police about the "threat" I made to him. Thanks to Congress on behalf of a voting member of McCaskill's constituency. From now I will make certain my vote is cast for someone working for the real people who make this America blue and true.
